Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Binders are a way that I help teach my students to be organized. It is what I have found that keep my students organized with all the materials (notes, interactive notebooks, handouts, tests, and quizzes) that they get in math class. Being a free breakfast and lunch school not all my students can afford to buy supplies. I'm hoping to help my students that struggle to get the supplies they will need to be successful in my class.

Next year I'm going to switch to a new position from a Special Education teacher to a Middle School Math teacher.

I try to give incentives and make things hands on as much as possible in my classroom. My bell work is going to be a competition between my classes. In order to do this they will need to complete their bell work in file folders. I also try to give my classes opportunities for choice. In these choices they get to use the computers and I will need more headphones to complete the assignments.
