This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Working in a K-8 school allows you to get to know the students who remain in one place for more than a year. On the other hand, a transient population makes it difficult for students to feel comfortable and accepted.

Many students have greater difficulties at home which makes school their safe haven.

The full inclusion model allows for students with a range of disabilities to feel welcome and accepted. Even through all the difficulties these students have faced, they all want to succeed.

My Project

Notebooks and folders are needed just as frequently as new pencils. The students are learning to take notes and use each page of their notebook in order to be more efficient. However, it doesn't always work as planned. Most students by now have been through two or more notebooks and folder. Either they have used them completely or they have gone missing.

In order to succeed the students need the correct materials to succeed.

The students would benefit from having two small bookcases to keep their materials in one place. In addition students will be able to officially "shred" their mistakes and learn from them the next time.
