This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Basic supplies, like paper, markers, and glue, are imperative to student success.
My students are amazing kids.
They come from all walks of life. Some have money, but of them most don't. They ALL work hard, and when put to the test, most all of them are up for it. However, my students complain that school isn't "fun" enough anymore.
My Project
By requesting the colored paper, glue sticks, and the markers, I hope to use it toward teaching the students to create foldables, which will in turn be used to teach various steps of different processes (like writing for instance) and new vocabulary that will help them on state and local tests.
I took it upon myself as a personal duty to make school fun again for students.
I believe that foldables will do this. It seems, that by finding creating ways to teach material, not only is it "fun" but students learn more and will retain it. Fancy that concept!
