This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students need a lot of love, care and support from teachers. Our school is in a poverty stricken area, where many students do not have necessary supplies or tools they need to succeed. Building a warm, safe, inviting classroom community and environment is so important for my students.
My students are kind, caring, and ready to learn.
They are continuing to learn how to best communicate with friends and prevent bullying in our classroom. Classroom community is still something we are continuing to build throughout the year, not just in our class, but school-wide. We also strive to provide differentiated, culturally-responsive instruction, and need more resources to do that.
I hope to receive support from DonorsChoose.org in order to help my students get necessary supplies, create a sense of community, safety and comfort in my classroom, as well as help my students create long lasting memories to help them connect positively to school. I appreciate your support in helping my students get what they need, learn, and grow.
My Project
Our classroom needs additional school supplies to support our learning. Most students did not bring in supplies because their families could not afford them, and the supplies I provided are starting to run out. We need dry erase markers to use with our personal white boards to help us practice math and writing. The Laminating sheets to make new games and vocabulary cards for our word wall, and file folders to organize our games and student work. Please consider donating to help support each student’s learning in our classroom! We would really appreciate your kindness, generosity and support. Thank you so much!
