My students come from diverse backgrounds. They have high expectations for themselves and I hold them to high standards that they are eager to meet. They do not let the fact that we are in a low-income district and facing many challenges due to budget cuts and low funding stop them from achieving their goals.
The challenge of motivating my students to meet goals they think they could never accomplish drives me to work as hard as I can every day.
My students are preforming on various academic levels. Some are above grade level, some are at grade level and some are below grade level. Many students lack the resources at home to help them reach their academic level.
My classroom is in need of some basic supplies to help it run more smoothly. My students need Clorox Wipes to wipe their desks, tables, chairs, and door knobs daily to prevent germs.
They need paper towels to wipe their hands after they wash them and to clean-up spills.
Our class is low on pencils, paper, markers, index cards and expo markers. My students use pencils, pens, paper, markers, index cards, and expo markers daily to meet their academic needs. They use the expo markers to write on dry erase boards and sleeves.
They need index cards, pens, pencils and markers to write vocabulary words and take notes. Some students need notebooks and binders for their expository, persuasive, descriptive, narrative writing and poetry.
These supplies are necessities to the function of our classroom.
