Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 87 amazing and hardworking scientists in my 5th grade science class. My students have shown that they are capable of growth and that they want to learn.
My students are learning how to be citizens of the world, and how to fight for social justice.
While they are in our classroom, I want to set them up for success, and help them to observe and critique the world around them. As super scientists, we are learning how to take notes, make observations, and draw models of the world around us. These science skills are necessary to set my students up for success in future science classes.
My students deserve an opportunity to succeed, and their future successes are dependent on their access to basic supplies. Donations to my class will allow my students access to more materials and supplies that will allow them to observe and analyze the world in which we live. With your support, my super scientists WILL go into the world and be a force for good!
My Project
I teach 87 super scientists who want to share their thoughts with the world. These students love to write observations, create models, and learn about science through hands on activities.
Creating pictures, models, and diagrams lets my students show their thinking and find joy in learning.
Markers, pencils, and glue sticks make it possible for my students to access information in creative ways. My students want to learn, and they need basic supplies to do so.
At KIPP, our motto is "All children WILL learn." These classroom supplies will ensure that all of my students will learn science, and that they just might enjoy it!
