Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students struggle to have the basic supplies needed for school and success. I often supply pencils, erasers, and folders out of my pocket to ensure my students have what they need to do their work. Any help would be greatly appreciated in providing students with these basic needs.

We use our folders for station work, and the folders allow the students to organize their work so they won't lose their work.

The other folders are used for homework folders that allow the students to take home notes, homework, and other important information from school to their families. This keeps an open communication open between home and school.

Many times people do not consider these items to be very expensive. However, when families are choosing between providing the necessities for their children and school supplies, the school supplies often are not purchased. To ensure I have what my students need for success in my classroom, I often purchase these items out of my pocket. These items add up over time.
