Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our listed classroom tools will help my students begin with hands-on materials they need to be successful in a new school year! Coming back to school after a pandemic and winter break can be challenging. Daily hands-on activities assist with number, weather, letter, and word recognition activities. Posting daily CCSS is an effective tool for students to learn and know why we are engaging in particular activities with meaning and purpose. Creating Number Books, Letter Books, writing story books and picture books is a goal in kindergarten. The stapler and pencil sharpener will assist us with fresh writing pencils and books to create and save!!

The Math and Literacy learning centers and Science STEM creativity projects will allow students to engage in purposeful practice of standard based skills.

Writing stories is an important development in kindergarten. We are excited to continue with our Science hands-on learning projects. The Cottonelle wipes will be used after each student, with adult supervision, uses the stapler and/or pencil sharpener. My students will need these materials to support their social-emotional development, literacy growth, science growth, and explore their creativity.

These materials will provide my students with tools to re-engage with their peers and grow their motivation as they maneuver through the new normal! With new supplies and engaging materials, my students will be able to continue the school year strong, increase my students’ extraordinary interest and excitement, and furthering student engagement by creating a safe learning environment that increases student confidence.
