Our students, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders, attend a public high school, and the majority of students, approximately fifty percent, live in poverty. We are a small school of less than six hundred, and approximately sixty percent of the students are open enrollment, leading to less funding from the state.
We have a diverse population of students, as many students from the big city seek our school for greater opportunities.
When given the right tools, my students are excited to learn and grow. They are amazing! They are the future.
My Project
My students need pens and pencils to do their classwork. They also need tissue for when they are not feeling well. In addition, students use flags in their texts to make notes, so they do not ruin the books.
Expo markers will be used on the dry erase boards and tables to make class more engaging.
Students also need cleaning wipes to be able to keep their device and desks clean. When we have a well supplied and clean classroom, students are able to learn without distractions. These supplies will help to create the environment they need in order to be successful in school.
