This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from low income and military families. Despite the challenges they face, I never doubt their academic abilities. My students are a hopeful group with their eyes on the prize. They are hardworking and respectful career bound citizens.
These brilliant and imaginative children only need the right tools and a good education to change the world.
My students are enthusiastic about education and always try to give an outstanding effort. These delightful children come to school ready to learn with smiles on their faces. Every day is a new and exciting day to learn because my students are willing complete any task I give them.
My Project
I am preparing career bound citizens in my classroom. I feel that it is important for my students to have responsibilities in the classroom like they will in real life. Since I service low income students and military families it is paramount that I maintain a well-stocked and organized classroom.
The extra supplies including markers, color pencils, notebooks, and scissors are needed in case my student’s families are not able to provide them.
Having the materials available for my students will reduce the risk for student disruptions and bullying. Students will use pencils, erasers, and notebooks to create interactive journals for Reading and Math.
The materials will allow for less student stress and more student success. The large round chair and stools are incentives to encourage my students to read. I will allow for them to read anywhere in the room and would like for them to be comfortable. Whiteboards will be used to practice the curriculum and assess student learning. The markers, color pencils, and scissors will be used to create posters and foldables for Science and Social Studies.
