My students know what it means to be "without". This gives them a strong appreciation for the things they do have. Many people may only see the poor grammar and sloppy hand writing; however these students have beautiful imaginations that just need to be cultivated! They are easily engaged with hands-on activities or the use of technology.
They are eager to learn, to love and share their lives with others.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I hope that you will consider providing these materials to this group of wonderful, worthy children!
I have listed laminator refills because one of the most frustrating things as a teacher is having to re-make something you have previously created for students (and it's always better the first time). The laminator also allows me to preserve student work. I have also listed miscellaneous school supplies, including dry erase markers, because it engages my students in intervention activities. You would be amazed by how engaged students become when they get to "write on the table" in marker, rather than using paper and pencil!
My teaching philosophy revolves around loving the students first, and teaching them second.
If my project is fully funded I will be able to better serve my students and use my time effectively for their betterment.
