Supplies for Success

My students need binders, markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, among other things. All of these supplies will help students succeed in their classroom. They will also help students be able to complete their homework.

My Students

Iraq, Yemen, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Burma, and Jordan are a handful of the places my students have come from. The majority of my students came from countries that are not safe. Some have lived in refugee camps and others haven't been able to attend school in years.

99% of our students show up to school with no supplies.

They are embarrassed and unprepared and they come to me for help. I want to be able to supply them with the supplies they need to be successful in their classrooms.

My Project

These students show up to school on day one with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. None of them have binders, pencils, coloring supplies, scissors, glue, etc. I provide my students will all of these things that I am able to supply. As our population is growing, as is demand for school supplies. I cannot provide these items for my students anymore without help. I want them to be able to complete their homework assignments and participate in class. They already have to worry about learning another language while overcoming the trauma they may have experienced in their home country. I don't want school supplies to be on their list of things to worry about.
