This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My world revolves around my students. I say that true to my heart. My students are an energetic, fun-loving group. They enter each day with a smile on their face ready to learn. Many of my students are immigrants or come from very high poverty. However, no matter their different stories, they each come to school, every day, with a positive attitude.
In return, they help me start my day off right, and I am motivated to do everything I can for them.
My students do a lot of movement throughout the day, and we are constantly using hands-on activities to use their energy to my advantage. We have tried to take everything we can, in day-to-day activities and use it as a chance to learn! When using everything as a teaching moment, these students are able to grow so much, not only as learners but as friends.
My Project
These resources will be used every day by the students. The folders will be used for their reading, writing, science, social studies and math work. The folders will hold their papers. The students will be able to learn organizational skills by having color coded folders. The pencil pouch will hold the pencils, crayons, scissors, dry erase markers, erasers and glue sticks that the students use as tools for their lessons. This will help them to have their materials handy, in an organized and neat way. Kleenex and clorox wipes will help keep our classroom clean and germ free!
Giving the students basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have an equal start and have the supplies and materials that they need to learn to the best of their abilities.
These materials will improve my classroom by giving the students the basic tools they need to complete their school assignments.
The folders, supplies and pouch will help the students to learn organizational skills. The pencils, crayons, glue, scissors and paper are the every day tools used in a first grade classroom.
