My students need school supplies like colored pencils, glue, and writing paper, for the up-coming school year! We have a very high poverty level in our district and many students can't afford supplies. The binding machine is to help organize their papers.
My students are eager to learn and create! They enjoy creating their science journals and making them their own. Students of all ability levels can create their own unique learning space. However, we are in a district where 75% of students live below the poverty level. Many students can’t afford art supplies for creating and must either borrow or do without. I love watching them create their work. We need help putting art supplies in every student’s hands! As a district the teachers are supplying the basic school supplies. Both my math and science classes use interactive notebooks. This is a fun way for the students to learn and they really like doing it.
My Project
These supplies will help my students to be creative and continue to grow in their education while having fun. They will be creating interactive notebooks where they will use color pencils a lot. They will be cutting and gluing all of their work into the notebooks and taking colorful notes.
The binding machine will be used to organize their morning work and any projects.
This will help them to take more ownership in their work and they will learn responsibility. Students learn better by doing and not just listening. This is my goal with all of my students.
The students will be able to keep their notebooks for future reference in upper level classes. They are proud to show off their work to their parents and other teachers. This builds confidence in themselves.
