Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classrooms, every student has a unique story to tell, and we want to ensure they have the tools they need to express themselves. We are seeking donations of essential writing supplies—pencils, paper, erasers, clipboards, pencil sharpeners, folders, and highlighters—to foster creativity and enhance learning. Our fourth and fifth-grade writing teachers are working closely with me this year to refine our instruction and provide more opportunities for students to practice writing. That means we need to provide resources for them to use in our classrooms.

These supplies will not only provide students with the means to complete their writing pieces but also encourage them to explore their ideas, collaborate with peers, and build their confidence as writers.

By donating, you’re directly contributing to a vibrant learning environment where every child can thrive and discover the joy of writing. We are supporting our students by analyzing mentor texts, creating rubrics with them, using visuals to enhance their learning, and increasing the amount of opportunities to respond in writing. Many of our students are multilingual learners so all of these instructional lessons are vital for their language and literacy development.
