Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many of my students face boredom constantly completing problems in their notebooks. Often, pages get ripped out or students lose interest in writing. They simply don't enjoy math because they don't have interesting hands-on activities that would peak their curiosity and enhance their learning.
My students are energetic third graders who want to express their excitement about math.
They want to do more than what notebooks and worksheets have to offer. They are brilliant and bright students. They are eager to share what they know and learn with their peers. My students enjoy math games that are interactive and shows off their thinking. They want to do more activities but they just don't have the resources.
My Project
My students will use the Write and Wipe boards during small group instruction so that they can work on math problems quickly and for ease of assessment. Of course, we will need the Write and Wipe markers to keep up with this task. They will use the Operations and Algebraic Thinking Folder Library as well as the Beat the Clock Activities as motivation to practice math facts and increase computational speed during math rotations, where students work in small groups to practice skill building. The Multiplication and Division Discovery will boost their competency just in time for those challenging tests they will face in the spring. These supplies are, without a doubt, going to push their math skills higher. They will use them in addition to the math lesson to reinforce what we are learning everyday. They will use these supplies in small guided groups as well as independent activities.
Donating to this project will help put gigantic smiles on all of my students faces.
They will know that someone cares about their success and it will encourage them to work harder to make their math goals come true.
