My Students

My students this year are a diverse group of AMAZING humans! They are rocking and rolling being back in person this year after almost 2 years of being virtual. We are so excited to be back together and learning science in person again!

One of my favorite things about my students is how much they love to learn about science and the world around them!

We have loved getting to do labs, activities, and explorations this year in science class. I love getting to learn and explore with them and see the world through their eyes!

My Project

Coming back to in-person learning this year was very exciting for students after almost two years out of the classroom. Something my students were especially excited about was getting to do hands-on science experiments and activities. This year we have used our classroom materials to create learning portfolios in the form of interactive science notebooks. These notebooks are perfect for our diverse group of learners because it allows each student to adapt their learning in a way that makes sense to them.

Using interactive notebooks, students get to create drawings, diagrams, charts, and more to help them learn and understand new scientific concepts.

We use our classroom materials with our notebooks daily. In our school, the majority of our students cannot provide their own school supplies, so I provide a supply box of markers, scissors, colored pencils, and other important supplies for each student in the class. These new supplies will help us to replace our well-loved items and allow students to continue their learning through creativity and engagement!
