The students in the CTE Department are innovative, problem solvers. Each student selects a course based on an interest as unique as they are. In any given class period a student could be working on robotics, while another group could be working on civil engineering. It is fun watching them challenge themselves to learn about how the world around them works, explore careers they are interested in, and gain skills to pursue them.
My Project
In the past year, we have added many different career pathways for our students to pursue in the CTE Department. The students in my industrial arts class create their own learning path to align with their career goals. This provides a challenge in having enough materials and tools to support their individual projects.
The tools listed would help meet the needs of our students as they learn new skills and pursue various projects.
We just implemented several dual credit courses that utilize different tooling like the chisels we currently don't have in our tool cabinet. The pliers will be used by the robotics students. The vise grips for the small engine students working on their lawn mowers. Scissors and pencils for the middle school exploratory classes making sketches and prototypes in the design & modeling class.
