Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
EAHS, 12X251 has run the Hour of Code for over 10 years and thanks to a wonderful donation from Code.org we will expand the Hour of Code to all the schools in our campus.
I trained a group of 9th graders to instruct our 10th, 11th and 12h graders in the Hour of Code in our school.
Then, these 9th graders teams will go to BHS, EHS and local middle school to do the Hour of Code with those students. The candy is to reward the students as they do the Hour of Code. It has worked very well in the last ten years.
Our students do a lot more than one hour of code, some do over 20 hours. The top students will get gift cards for all their hard work.
