This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In many urban communities, students are not supplied with the same tools and materials found in more affluent areas. My students are growing to be lifelong learners, and they are in need of resources to help them develop and strengthen their understanding of current events.
My sixth graders are bright, loving, and most importantly - unstoppable in their quest to be successful.
Their families support the students, the teacher, and the school. The parents are confident in my abilities as a teacher and with these new relationships and community connections. I enter my room more prepared and driven to provide my students with the supplies which they need.
My Project
My 6th graders will need supplies they can use at home in order to access the math instruction and thinking away from the classroom. This project will fund my students to have calculators and white board clipboards to use at home. The clipboards will hold handouts sent from school in place while providing a space for math thinking to be recorded with a whiteboard marker. My students will also need access to graphs. The stamp will allow me to stamp graphs on any paper that will be sent home to my students each month for distance learning.
