My students need things they can call their own.
The items they need are their own writing journals, a literature organizer to store their daily assignments, table caddies for their supplies and individual book bins.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school provides a quality education in a loving learning environment within a safe and organized atmosphere. Students look forward to coming to school and crave the schedule, routine and culture we have created together. Our classroom culture allows students to form and support an environment in which all students feel accepted, supported, valued and like an important part of the classroom.
My students come from a community that is internationally and socio-economically diverse.
Many students experience peers of different ethnicities and perspectives, which provides countless enriching experiences. As the area is diverse it is also a low socio-economic area where breakfast and lunch are provided daily for every student. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and English is not their first language nor spoken at home.
With a Growth Mindset and given the correct tools, students are able to reach their goals through their partnerships with peers, teachers, parents, and community members.
My Project
With these materials, my students will be able to have supplies of their own. A notebook they can use for daily writing that will not fall apart. A literature organizer to store all their hard work, a place just for their creative thinking. Table caddies to ensure their brand new supplies stay in pristine condition. Last but not least book bins to organize their individualized book levels and workbooks. These items will allow my students to have a sense of belonging and supplies they can call their own.
Many of my students come from poverty and the items they own are gold, so giving them these resources will boost their motivation!
With your help, my students will have resources to help encourage their self-esteem. Some of my students experience homelessness where they have NO materials of their own. They are unable to have supplies or organize those supplies. With these items my students are able to learn day-to-day skills as every child should.
