My Project

Please help my students with autism gain access to engaging social studies materials appropriate to their developmental levels!

My students enjoy participating in meaningful lessons and are motivated to learn more about their community.

My students all have a diagnosis of autism, and many of them struggle to keep up with the general education curriculum in the area of social studies. This project will allow me to purchase and prepare materials from the Teachers Pay Teachers website that are tailored to my students’ needs and abilities.

These children are bright, energetic, and capable of learning the same material as their peers, but require modified materials and methods in order to be successful. These materials will be used during small group instruction and center activities to provide hands-on learning opportunities to each child in my class. These instructional materials will help me teach social studies lessons in the areas of citizenship, government, geography, history, and economics. These lessons will help my students learn about their community and the world around them.

I love seeing the sense of pride in my students when they demonstrate success. I am confident that alternate and/or supplemental materials will provide the children with the learning opportunities they need to allow them to access the same learning standards as their grade-level peers.
