My Students

My students may be small, but they abound with joy and curiosity! I teach second grade in a high-poverty Title I school, where kids arrive eager to learn and gain an understanding of the world around them. In addition to students with learning disabilities, I have many English Learners and children who are refugees from war-torn countries. This diversity calls for engaging teaching resources to meet students' unique academic needs.

In our classroom, kids collaborate and support each other regardless of their differences.

As an inner-city school, our resources are limited, so we are grateful for any extra support we receive from the community and beyond.

My Project

Our kids are always excited to work with their hands! These magnetic tile sets and building kits will engage their minds and spark their creativity.

As a Title I teacher serving an under-resourced population, I would love for my students to have the chance to visualize, plan, problem-solve and build using a variety of tools and materials.

Hands-on learning activities have been a challenge during this pandemic, but with multiple sets of STEM activities, students can stay socially distanced in accordance with our school's COVID guidelines. Plus, these materials are easy to sanitize, so kids can safely create during daily invention breaks. As they problem-solve, they build critical thinking skills, resilience, and the ability to let their imaginations soar.
