This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These new picture and chapter books will be used on a daily basis as we read together during story time. Reading aloud to student sparks their imagination and provides wonderful opportunities for group discussions. Students from Kindergarten to 5th grade will have time to ask questions, make predictions, discuss the themes, and reflect on the stories.
Reading aloud to students is one of the very best parts of my day.
Reading to kindergartners is a completely different journey than reading to 5th-grade students, but they are both fun and fulfilling in their own way. I love to watch students giggle when I read funny or silly stories, I love to watch the wheels turn when they are learning something new, and I love to hear their questions and their thoughts when we are reading books that have a more serious theme (even my little ones come up with some amazingly insightful ideas that surprise me). These books will take us on new reading adventures for many, many months to come.
