This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders always walk in with a smile on their faces ready to learn. They always strive for academic readiness no matter what the situation is. Two years ago many of our students were affected by Hurricane Harvey and were struggling emotionally and financially due to being displaced. As of right now we still have students that are struggling emotionally and financially. My students come from a very low socio-economic area, with very little resources to engage them in learning. I want to build a stress free foundation in my classroom, so when they leave my classroom they are motivated and excited about learning. I want them to carry the passion of learning with them forever. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.

The students that make up my classroom are 99% low income and at risk for dropping out before finishing high-school.

My Project

Our students are in need to have access to technology. Since we are in a Title 1 school we do not receive enough funds to purchase tablets for the students to have in the classroom. By providing students with tablets and technology it will help them be engage in reading, math and science.

I will reinforce effective ways of learning different concepts during small group instruction.

My students will be able to get on ABC Mouse, I Station, and Reading A-Z without having to borrow tablets from the computer lab. They will also have the opportunity to take assessments and work independently.
