This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 1st grade students love dramatic play! What better way then to incorporate our positive reward system with superhero capes!

My goal this year is to create an environment where each student is rewarded for their effort, not ability.

Each month each student will strive to achieve a personal goal (can be academic or behavior). These superhero capes will be used as an incentive to promote positive behavior in our classroom.

Once the student reaches the superhero level, they will be given their very own superhero cape and trophy. I plan to use a variety of capes for our dramatic play of superhero vowels which pertains to our English Language Arts program as well. I've also included an apron for students to model and act out our internal organs. The wireless doorbell will be used to get students' attention when they are in their small group cooperative groups.
