My Students
The third grade students at my school are fun, energetic and eager to learn. Our school is located in a beautiful neighborhood in a medium/low income area. We have a variety of races, ethnicities and learning styles in our school. Since our language arts and math core standards are so strict and because school funds are so limited, many times learning about science goes by the wayside. Right now I am responsible to teach my students science. I personally do not have the funds to buy science supplies for my students and the supplies that have been purchased for my grade level were only enough supplies to last one year, which unfortunately was last year. With your help I can change this. I believe that science does not need to go by the wayside, but can be integrated into language arts and math. With magnets, life cycle specimen sets, ramps and weather kits, I will be able to integrate science into my other core subjects.
My Project
In person learning has become something that my third grade students not only look forward to, but crave. Because of the Covid-19 crisis, we have had many digital learning days. When we do get the chance to be in person, learning with each other, I want to make my science lessons as fun and engaging that I can.
By helping my supply my students with magnet labs, electricity labs, weather experiments, hand held magnets and many other science resources you will be helping to make my in person learning not only fun, but memorable for my students.
