Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have very big hearts and truly make do with what they have. For some, school is their safe haven from extremely poverty-stricken and violent homes. My students are in a very low-income community. They are kind and loving but may not get all the things they need. I have really gotten to know these students in our building and their families very well. I have already learned that I have children who come from needy families. Some of my children come from split families where they may or may not see one or both parents. I am very lucky to be able to touch these kiddos' lives. They are very creative and love to be able to explore their learning world through my classroom.

Each child in the class has his or her own unique personality that has really brought our community together.

They are very creative and are starting to really enjoy the academic world and are improving every day.

My Project

These are very difficult times. As a teacher who spent March until June teaching remotely my students were very limited with supplies. I want to make it my goal to prevent this from happening again.

If we start up remotely or in person I want my students to have the supplies that they need to be successful regardless of their financial situations.

Crayons, folders, glue sticks etc are some of the items I am asking for so that I can send these to homes or use them in class with the students. I have also asked for sanitation items like lysol wipes and hand sanitizer to provide a clean learning environment for students. Please help support my students.
