My Students

How can students succeed without the appropriate resources? As a teacher in a Title I school in downtown Manhattan, we have a large population of special education, low income and English Language Learners students in our class. We want them to learn through multiple means, so that they can become great readers, writers, and mathematicians!

Most of my students are eligible for free lunch due to their socioeconomic status.

Many of our students have ADHD, learning disabilities, and speech impairments. We want to prepare these students for the future and give them the same opportunities that other New York City children can afford.

My Project

Our students need basic supplies to have the best educational experience. They need supplies such as clipboards. Imagine finding a cozy place on the floor to write, but every time you write you make a whole in your paper, so then you have to sprawl out on the floor to have a hard surface to write on. What about a clipboard? That would solve the problem!

We also need to organize our materials.

Plastic storage bins are needed to keep our classroom neat and organized. It is much easier to learn in a neat organized environment. This will help keep our math materials need and organized!
