My Students

My students are awesome! I teach at a Philadelphia Public School that qualifies for Title I funding. My entire class qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students live in a single-parent household and some of them are being cared for by a foster family or extended family members.

Despite the challenges my students face, they come each day with a great attitude.

Many of them have faced hardships that you would never want any child to ever experience. I provide a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn and progress.

My Project

Whether in class, hybrid or learning from home, my students need supplies to begin a successful year of school. Removing the stress and anxiety of not having what is needed is a big help for my families.

Each student will have their own materials, pencil case, pencils, whiteboard and markers, to begin the year.

These materials will be used daily and in multiple classes. Given the current state of a global pandemic, supplies that would have been shared in the past must be used only by one student to best ensure their health and safety.
