This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with students in grades 3-5th grade. My students are enthusiastic, creative, and loving. My students work on building relationships with peers and adults. They work on improving their social skills and learning how to manage emotional stress. My students are special because they are who they are.
My students work on building relationships, enhancing social skills, and advocating for others.
My Project
The materials I have requested will help to enhance social skills, decrease anxiety, manage impulsive behaviors, and manage emotions when dysregulated. These materials will be used in school. I will be teaching kids how to build and keep relationships, how to improve self-esteem, and mindfulness techniques to be used when emotionally heightened. Students will be able to work with each and in one-to-one settings when using the materials. Parents will then be provided with feedback in order to promote the same positive behaviors and calming strategies at home.
