My Students
Using manipulatives for reading and spelling is so much more fun than doing worksheets! Students love to "play" with letters, and don't even realize they're learning!
My wonderful school in Virginia is in a small, tight knit community.
Our school is older, but the vibe inside is warm. The children are excited about learning, but our funds aren't adequate enough to supply and restock lost or damaged manipulatives. Plus, new supplies make children feel happy and special!
My Project
With reading and spelling manipulatives, my children can build their spelling and vocabulary words, put together sentences, and practice reading. Centers are their favorite time of day (besides lunch and recess!) and the students can work together in pairs to cheer each other on. I can also work with students one-on-one or in small groups on focus lessons.
