This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at Edison elementary and Freedom elementary for Lawton Public Schools. They range from students with articulation errors, stuttering, language and literacy, to autism. They are in a low-income neighborhood and a military base. My students are so eager to learn new things all the time. They come from multiple classrooms ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade. I also provide services to a self-contained 1st/2nd grade Autism class. It is my goal to provide them with the materials necessary to be successful in and outside of my classroom.
My Project
As a second year SLPA, I am do not have a lot of materials for my students. I have been looking for items that would fit my students needs. Speech therapy is hard. My students are learning new things that are difficult for them. I believe that these games would make speech therapy fun for them while working to reach their goals.
We need an assortment of new and engaging games to support the development of their communication skills.
My students need game from Super Duper Publications to help reach their goals. The games that I have found would benefit my students who have needs in articulation, language, literacy, fluency, and autism.
