Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school years start out as a new adventure for my TK students, many of whom have never been to school before. I love to have a fun, safe, and inviting environment all set up for them, to help them feel secure and also be excited about school from the very beginning. However, our district has cut all funding to Early Education teachers, so we are on our own for making our classrooms the amazing place that our new students deserve. That is where your support comes in!
Our students deserve a rich and nurturing environment on the very first day of school.
You can help us gather the things that have traditionally made this possible. That includes a personal dragon stuffed animal (our school mascot) for each child to hold and care for, as well as appropriately sized crayons and pencils of many colors, and personal notebooks to learn to draw and write in. Those items have always helped for a smooth transition. In addition, having a class supply of both hand sanitizer and soap on hand ensures that we will start off as clean and safe as possible.
