My Students
I love the spirit and perseverance my students display daily. The kids from my school are eager to learn in and outside the classroom. They show both interest and actions in learning that help demonstrate love, courage and respect for their community.
My Project
During the past school year many of our special education students fell even further behind in reading skills which is crucial for comprehension and success in all subjects.
Teachers and Educational Assistants will be able to deliver lessons that can include the use of the varied phonics and sentence stem kits to get student's reading in fun and engaging ways.
We also chose Legos as they will serve dual purposes. They are one of the best manipulatives to use to support 5th grade students learning of the common core math standard for fractions. The Legos can also be used by students for brain breaks and stem activities
Additionally, access to free standing dry erase boards will be used to support parallel and small group teaching in the Inclusion classroom setting.
