My Project
Following the return to in-person learning, I am seeing many students with significant deficits in basic interpersonal skills. I am requesting materials designed to enhance the development of a variety of social and emotional skills. I try to ensure that the time students are receiving counseling is meaningful and focused on teaching or reinforcing new social and emotional skills. The materials I requested, such as the social-emotional match-ups and the Match and Sort social-emotional quickies, will allow students hands-on practice that can be done quickly and efficiently.
I am seeking new materials to use in individual and small group counseling sessions to maximize the limited time we have to build invaluable social-emotional skills.
Time away from classroom instruction should be focused and I truly believe the resources I chose can help my students learn and grow. Games, conversation starters, and feelings cards are all a part of how our students practice their social-emotional skills. Learning through play is a proven method and these games and activities will enhance my counseling program tremendously.
