My Project

My special needs students are 2 to 5 years behind their peers. Many of my students have Autism, intellectual disabilities, behavior disorders, Dyslexia, or other learning differences. I have students in grades K5 through middle school. Many of the students have communication differences, including non-verbal students who use AAC devices and many with other speech and language needs.

Help us improve our sentence construction skills with manipulatives and computer mice so we can use the computers more easily.

The puzzles and other manipulatives will help those that communicate differently or can't spell words due to learning differences. The computer mice will help students use the computers easier because the Chromebook track pads are difficult to use as some of them have fine motor skill deficits. These materials will increase student engagement in writing which is their least favorite subject and the most difficult to get them to participate in.
