My Students

My classroom is unique, and I teach a life skills class. Each of my students is gifted in their own beautiful ways. My students have learning difficulties, but they are amazing, incredible learners.

Our classroom is set up differently than most classrooms to better meet the needs of our students.

In my classroom, we do stations so that my students are in very small groups. In this way, we are better able to meet the needs of each learner.

My Project

Many of my students have sensory processing issues, and need time and activities to decompress. My team and I have built a sensory room for our students to rotate through as a station. A compression boat lounger would allow students to feel safe and secure, which increases their comfort level at school.

Sensory floor tiles are amazing because they change and move as students step on the tile.

This allows students to work on gross motor skills as well as fulfilling sensory needs.

The Crayola Touch Lights Musical Doodle would allow students to receive visual and auditory stimulation as they draw.
