This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a class full of fantastic students! The students I work with have autism spectrum disorder, with a variety of different needs and require support with regulating their emotions.They are the sweetest group of kids I have ever had the pleasure of working with. However, they need support to self-regulate their emotions when they are upset, frustrated and tired. I would like to create a sensory room with a variety of tools to help alleviate stress and anxiety.

Please help me by providing the tools and space to help my students regulate their emotions so that they are able to learn and grow.

When my students are upset, they tend to have meltdowns which can lead to aggressive behavior towards self and others. They need a therapeutic space with a variety of equipment that helps these children calm and focus themselves so they can be better prepared for learning and interacting with others.

I would greatly appreciate any and all donations to this project to help ensure that my students have all the tools they need to be successful as they transition into adulthood.
