My students need hands on manipulatives, like a sound box, a measurement center and Can Do! Science Discovery Kits, for their studies in science.
My students do not have access to hands on and real science experiences.
I have 14 wonderful and curious Kindergarteners in my class.
My students live in a high poverty area of Florida. We are a Title 1 school with limited resources. Half of my students currently are diagnosed with either a speech/language delay or a learning disability. My students love science!
I picture a busy and exciting Kindergarten science lab in my classroom. My students will put on their new lab coats before conducting investigations and collecting data. I see them grasping concepts and sharing their new skills with peers. The science center in my classroom will be in great demand and a very appealing place to be.
This laboratory will provide my students with real life science experiences that they would never be exposed to normally.
This will have an enormous impact on their ability to master new skills. I also foresee a great improvement in their test scores.
