Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can we expect learning to occur when students' most basic needs are not being met? Many of my students do not feel safe in their homes or community. Many of my students require a free breakfast and lunch at school. We also provide snack because for many of my students, they will not eat again until they come to school the next day. My colleagues and I provide out students with a safe place and a consistent meal.

My students, even while facing adversity, are full of love and kindness.

They genuinely care about each other and their communities. They want to see better things happening around them. Even at such a young age, they want to change the world.

My students are my world and I want to give them the world.

My Project

My students would love a science exploring kit and science centers to help them learn how to think like a scientist. My students will be able to complete science experiments in stations on their own with little assistance from the teacher. My goal is to get them to start thinking on their own through exploration. I want them to learn that it is alright to make mistakes in science and to use those mistakes to increase learning. This science kit and the science centers will improve critical thinking skills and cooperative learning. Hopefully, they will be able to transfer the skills they learn in science to other contents to improve overall academics.

It is imperative that we mold young minds to be critical thinkers who are not afraid to make mistakes, learn, and think outside of the box, your donation can help mold these young minds!

Being able to explore the world around them will help my students flourish in their early educational years and keep them engaged to want to continue their learning. Many students in this community are disengaged from school and learning as a whole. The science kit and science stations will help keep my students engaged and focused and help build and foster an engaged attitude towards their learning.
