My students need hands-on Science materials to explore the world around them, including x-rays, light table materials, safety goggles, test tubes, and building kits.
"We should not teach children the sciences but give them a taste for them." Jean Jacques Rousseau. My students are inquisitive eager learners that should be exposed to various science opportunities.
My students are kindergarten students in a rural primary (Pre-K through Second Grade) school in West Virginia.
Our school is very small having only two classes of each grade. Although Pre-K is offered at our school, it is not required for several of my students kindergarten is there first experience away from home.
My Project
My students need hands-on Science materials to explore the world around them, including x-rays, light table materials, safety goggles, test tubes, and building kits. My students will use these materials to explore life science, environmental science, STEM, and health. They will use these during our learning center time so that they can focus independently as well as with teacher instruction. They will be able to build bridges, make volcanoes, and investigate x-rays.
My students will be able to use these materials to explore the wonderful world of science.
They will be able to manipulate things and transform them into usable materials. They will experience new concepts and hopefully increase their questioning of the world around them.
