Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Why is the sky blue? Why is there a rainbow after it rains? Why does the weather change? These are all questions that have been asked by my kindergarten students this year! Children are bursting with questions about science and they are so eager to learn about the world around them!
I teach a group of energetic Kindergarten scientists at a Title 1 campus.
They are constantly asking questions and investigating their surroundings. As their teacher, I want to help provide them with answers and give them resources to explore! They love science and hands-on experiments.
My Project
Each day we spend time in math and reading centers. My students love science and they would really benefit from science centers too! I am hoping to have materials to get science centers going in my classroom this year. All of the materials I am requesting are hands-on and will be used directly by students. One of the things I would love to have is a sand and water table. The table would be a wonderful teaching tool for us! The students would be able to explore sinking and floating objects during center time. We could also add sand and become paleontologists looking for dinosaur bones! This table could be used in so many ways! I am also requesting games for the Smart Board that link science to technology.
These science materials would have a tremendous impact on my students.
They would encourage my students to ask questions and explore the world around them. With your support, I will have the materials needed for science centers in my classroom. Thank you so much for considering donating my classroom and my Kindergarten scientists.
