My Students
Students enter my classroom each day knowing that they are the future of the world and it is their learning that will make them the leaders of tomorrow. My classroom is set up with 3D printers and other STEAM tools so that a hands-on, learning experience is incorporated into each class. By the end of the year, I want my students to be at the forefront of STEM education because junior engineers and scientists will be leading the way for the future.
Each student is unique in their own way, which makes learning that much more special.
My students love learning about the ever-changing world of science and are captured by the fact that every day brings new discoveries in science. The school is a welcoming environment that encourages higher-level learning while supporting the students at every step. The school houses over fourteen hundred, middle school students, who come from different ethnic backgrounds. In order to strengthen their learning experience, I want my students to utilize all the possible resources I can provide for them.
My Project
Just as students are about to wrap up one of the hardest school year ever and excelling in pandemic under the hardest circumstances, I would love to give them more hands-on learning experiences. How can we teach students about climate change and environmental impacts that are everlasting thoughts in their minds? The answer is simple, hands-on activities.
With the supplies, students will build and design their creations to combat the global climate crisis with a STEM twist.
With the conductive tape and coin cell batteries, students will create paper circuits that will help them design alternative energy sources. With the shrink paper the scientists-in-training will create designs for a greener city. With the button machine, students will create buttons to wear to bring awareness to the global environmental crises. The possibilities are endless with creativity that my amazing junior scientists have.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
