My Students
Our school is a college prep elementary school in a high poverty neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, where 100% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Even though many of our students have faced challenges in their lives, they are extremely hard workers, who love learning!
Our Scholastic Bowl Team is a group of bright and energetic middle schoolers who love learning!
We are on year 3 of our Scholastic Bowl Team, so we are always looking for new and fun learning opportunities. Our students work hard every day and go on to the most prestigious high schools in the area and then on to college!
My Project
These copies of Solution Squad will allow our team to learn and practice advanced mathematics concepts in a fun and memorable way. Solution Squad has been nominated for academic awards, and is written by a veteran mathematics teacher who knows exactly how to teach these concepts in a way students will understand them! Solution squad combines subtle math concepts in the graphics, as well as story based math practice! There are even lesson plans already written to go along with all of these concepts. By using the graphic novel as a teaching tool, our Scholastic Bowl team will be prepared to crush our competition at our meets next year!
