My Students

My students are special because they may be at an economic disadvantage, displaced, poor, but they have the heart of a champion. These are some of the students I teach every day eager to learn and soak up all the knowledge that is presented to them.

I work in a school with a very high ESL population in the inner city of Houston, Texas.

Plus, our school was devastated by the horrific floods of Harvey. Many of my scholars were displaced and lost everything during the Harvey hurricane.

We help students learn English while holding on and becoming literate in their own language, as well. My students have come from many different and often difficult situations. They hold the American Dream but need the tools to make them successful.

Also, they are great athletes and have the heart of a champion because they play sports with passion. They run like the wind and catch balls with ease. These children understand sports and are very competitive just like our Houston Astros.

My Project

My scholars need an updated MacBook for many reasons. First, they would use it for Activity Works (a work out program designed for every child at different stages.) Also, students can create their own graphs to track their fitness progress. This MacBook will make a significant impact on their learning because they would not be working out of an outdated technology that works super slow.

New and the latest technology can help a student grow academically and be successful.

The scholars' lives will improve dramatically because they have the latest technology at their fingertips. In order to compete in this world, one needs to prepare them with the best.
