My Students

My classroom is a self-contained special education classroom that serves students with cognitive disabilities. Their abilities are wide in variety and are the focus of our classroom!

My students need differentiated instruction in order to learn adaptive and academic skills.

Their disabilities range from Down Syndrome, Autism, Intellectual Disability, and others. Despite what their diagnosis is, my students are capable of learning and growing! It is my job to identify their learning style, be creative, and make learning fun.

My Project

My students have very limited adaptive behavior skills and struggle with sitting and remaining on task. A lot of them tend to sit and fidget in their chairs, or sit with poor posture. These stools will help my students remain on task, while using their core muscles and still being able to move around.

These stools will help my students remain on task during academic work time which will help them make more progress in their academic goals.

They will be able to improve their posture and core muscle strength in a fun way.
