Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We need to replenish the consumable supplies for our classroom guinea pigs, including food, hay, treats, and bedding.

This year, we introduced a classroom pet.

We adopted two guinea pigs from our local animal shelter for the classroom. With the help of the fantastic Donors Choose community, we got everything we needed to get started, including a spacious habitat!

Our students love learning to care for their pets. Feeding, cleaning, and cuddling the guinea pigs helps our students learn responsibility and compassion for animals. We use pets to help engage students who are struggling with motivation, comfort students who need emotional support, and teach students about how to care for animals.

Please help us continue this super successful project in our classroom so we can continue with our Fall class.
