Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Pencils disappear in my classroom like socks in the dryer. Not sure where they go but school supplies go quickly.
I have 24 students in my class.
16 of them are English language learners and the majority are on free or reduced lunch. My students are from a Title I school. Many of them come from economically disadvantaged circumstances. Even though they face economic challenges, they come to school each day eager to learn new things.
My Project
At the beginning of the year we need to replenish our supplies. Our class needs pencils, a working sharpener, lots of construction paper in various colors for art projects, pens, white board makers and a calendar number kit. The white board markers get used up quickly. The kids use their personal white boards to practice concepts they are learning. These supplies are very important and are used daily. My school supplies a small quantity but not enough to get through the year.
My students will benefit greatly with this donation.
I will not have to ask parents to supply these materials. We will be able to learn everyday without having to worry about running out of supplies.
