Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My job requires me to impact student performance in literacy. I achieve this by working with teachers and students. Working in a Title I school is no easy feat. Even with the lack of resources, my students still make the best out of nothing. My students come to school each day with a willingness to learn. They have so much potential and there is no limit for them.
You can see it in their eyes that they are trying to beat the odds and create a better life for themselves through their education.
My Project
Since moving from in-person teaching to an online platform, my screen time has increased tremendously.
I currently borrow a laptop from my school site, however, it constantly lags and crashes when I use two or more applications.
After a year of crashed Zoom meetings, frozen documents, and the constant lag of internet sites, I am in desperate need of a reliable computer. With this Surface, it will allow me to participate in the required professional developments my fearless leader wants me to attend. As a member of my school’s leadership team, administration and I will participate in a week-long series of workshops. These professional developments are intended to begin completing the SIP (School Improvement Plan) by analyzing the data to overcome the school’s barriers by achieving the ultimate goal of student success.
It is crucial that all educators provide all students greater access, equity, and ownership of their learning. I believe this starts with reliable resources like technology for teachers.
